Made in the M'Chigeeng First Nation, these one-of-a-kind, artist quality ‘paintstones’ are handcrafted using traditional indigenous techniques and blended with lightfast pigments, foraged tree sap, gum arabic and Manitoulin honey from the Beam family hives. These hand poured paintstones are a plastic-free equivalent to a ‘half-pan’ used by watercolour artists and measure 7/8 inch across, including the waxed cotton packaging.
These have been a popular addition to our selection of art supplies with customers coming back repeatedly to add to their collection. Particularly popular, are the iridescent colours created with ethical mica, with artists such as Skye-based Helen Robertson using them within her work. The tactile quality and unique selection of colours available from Beam paints are what adds to the unique quality of this product.
